FAQ

What's the difference between the spray and the brush-on Painter's Touch?

The 2X Ultra Cover sprays are aerosols made to cover in fewer passes, and wet paint cleans up with xylene or mineral spirits. The brush-on Ultra Cover cans are water-based, clean up with soap and water, and cover about 120 sq ft per quart.

When can I add a second coat of spray paint?

Rust-Oleum says to recoat or clear coat within 1 hour or after 48 hours. On a new clear finish, recoat within 30 minutes or after 48 hours.

Do I need a primer?

Rust-Oleum especially recommends its Painter's Touch primer on bare wood and metal for better adhesion and hide. Previously painted surfaces in good shape can be cleaned and scuff-sanded instead.

Can I use Painter's Touch outdoors?

Yes. Rust-Oleum lists the brush-on paint for indoor and outdoor projects and says to spray outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Apply either one only between 50°F and 90°F.
