Titebond
Titebond wood glues from Franklin International for furniture, cabinets, and general woodworking. Franklin International makes Titebond in Columbus, Ohio. Maker materials position Original as the industry-standard interior wood glue, II Premium as the first leading one-part wood glue to pass ANSI Type II water resistance, and III Ultimate as a one-part waterproof glue that passes ANSI/HPVA Type I. This brand collection covers Titebond products currently in the store.
Per Titebond technical data, Original is an aliphatic resin emulsion for interior use with about 46% solids, strong initial tack, and easy water cleanup; it is not intended for exterior or moisture-prone joints. II Premium is a cross-linking PVA designed for exterior woodworking such as outdoor furniture and planters, with ANSI Type II water resistance and water cleanup. III Ultimate is an advanced polymer glue that passes ANSI/HPVA Type I waterproof testing, cleans up with water, offers longer open time and a lower application temperature (about 45°F chalk temperature), and is FDA-compliant for indirect food contact such as cutting boards. None of these glues are for structural or continuous-submersion load-bearing applications.

Use Original for dry interior joints. Use II Premium when you need ANSI Type II water resistance for outdoor furniture and similar projects. Use III Ultimate when you need ANSI/HPVA Type I waterproof performance, longer open time, or a lower application temperature.
Is Titebond III waterproof?
Yes. Maker materials state Titebond III Ultimate passes the ANSI/HPVA Type I water-resistance specification. It is not for continuous submersion.
Can I use these glues on cutting boards?
Titebond Original, II, and III are listed as FDA-approved or FDA-compliant for indirect food contact (cutting boards). Follow the product label for cure time before food contact.
