• Sand raw wood with 120 then 150 grit; don't over-sand with fine grits, which GF says closes the grain.
• Two coats, 2+ hours apart at 70 F; add a third if the red looks streaky.
• For tabletops, seal with 2 to 3 coats of a GF water-based clear such as High Performance Satin quart.

For bigger pieces, step up to the Tuscan Red quart (100 to 125 sq ft per coat) or the gallon.
