Old Masters Gel Stain

Old Masters Gel Stain is a highly pigmented, alkyd-based (oil-based) gel stain for interior wood, fiberglass, primed metal and composition surfaces. Old Masters says its thick formula gives easy application and color control, and it is made for hard-to-stain woods such as pine, poplar, maple, plywood and veneers, plus fiberglass doors and plastic moldings. Shop half pints for samples and small pieces, or quarts for cabinets, doors and furniture.

About Old Masters Gel Stain

Practical coverage is 300 to 500 sq ft per gallon (about 19 to 31 sq ft per half pint and 75 to 125 sq ft per quart), depending on the wood. It dries in about 6 to 8 hours at 70 F and 50% relative humidity, and a second coat for more depth can go on after 8 hours. Do not thin. To lighten any color, mix it with Natural Gel Stain. Before a water-based topcoat, let the stain dry completely and then wait another 24 hours.

Free shipping at $75, no code needed (lower 48 + DC). Free 30-day returns with a prepaid label. New to gel stain? Read how to use gel stain on cabinets and furniture, compare every brand in wood stains and gel stains, or shop all Old Masters.
