Ready Seal Exterior Stain & Sealer Natural Gallon
Ready Seal Exterior Stain & Sealer Natural Gallon
Ready Seal is an oil-based, semi-transparent exterior stain and sealer in one. It is a blend of oils, resins, and finely ground pigments that penetrate wood to protect it while keeping the grain visible. This 1 gallon can is the Natural color.
Natural is Ready Seal's lightest semi-transparent tone for a near-natural wood look while still adding UV-blocking pigment and sealing oils. Final color depends on wood species, age, and porosity, so test a small area first.

How much do I need?
Using Ready Seal's coverage ranges, a 300 sq ft smooth cedar deck needs about 2 gallons for one coat (at about 150 sq ft per gallon). Rough wood or heavy spray application can drop coverage toward 100 to 125 sq ft per gallon.
How to apply
- Prep to clean, bare, thoroughly dry wood. New or sealed wood may need cleaning and dry time so pores are open.
- Confirm moisture content is 12% or less with a moisture meter when possible.
- Stir thoroughly so settled pigment is fully mixed. When using more than one can, intermix (box) them for color consistency.
- Apply with brush, roller, or sprayer. Do not over-apply. Excess that sits on the surface can leave a residue; wipe or brush out puddles.
- Protect plants, concrete, and neighboring surfaces from overspray. Follow the full Ready Seal label and application guides.
Good to know
- Ready Seal is for exterior wood. Painting or staining over Ready Seal with other coatings is not recommended.
- Applying Ready Seal over existing stains or paints is not recommended; it needs clean, bare wood for best penetration.
- Rags or waste soaked with oil-based stain can spontaneously combust. Place them in a sealed, water-filled metal container after use.
