Sashco
Sashco is a Colorado family-owned manufacturer of sealants, caulks, and stains, in business since 1936 and made in the USA. This brand collection covers the Sashco products currently ACTIVE in the Project Weekend DIY store: closed-cell backer rod, Lexel lower-VOC sealant, Mor-Flexx mortar and stucco repair, Big Stretch elastomeric caulk, and Through the Roof! roof sealants.
Per Sashco product literature and our live SKUs: Lexel is a synthetic copolymer-rubber sealant that is paintable, sticks to wet or dry surfaces, and is rated for high joint movement; Big Stretch is a water-based 100% acrylic elastomeric sealant with up to 530% maximum stretch per the TDS on our White cartridge; Mor-Flexx is a textured, water-cleanup repair sealant for mortar and stucco joints; Through the Roof! is a copolymer-rubber roof sealant that sticks to damp surfaces and is UV resistant; closed-cell round backer rod acts as a bond breaker and moisture-repelling filler for joints deeper than about 1/2 inch.

What is Lexel made of?
Sashco states Lexel is a synthetic copolymer rubber (not silicone). Our ACTIVE SKU is the White lower-VOC 10.5 oz cartridge (part 13080).
How much stretch does Big Stretch claim?
Our live Big Stretch White product cites up to 530% maximum stretch per the TDS. Sashco marketing often describes about 500% maximum stretch for the line.
What is Mor-Flexx for?
Maker materials describe Mor-Flexx as a textured, elastic, water-cleanup sealant for repairing mortar, stucco, brick, stone, and faux stone joints. It is a repair sealant, not structural mortar.
When should I use backer rod?
Sashco directions on our SKUs call for backer rod in joints deeper than 1/2 inch. Closed-cell round rod repels moisture and acts as a bond breaker so sealant adheres at two points.
What is Through the Roof! used for?
Sashco positions Through the Roof! for exterior roofing repairs: flashing, vent pipes, skylights, gutters, ductwork, chimneys, and metal roofs. It sticks to damp surfaces and is UV resistant per maker copy.
