Per Gorilla product materials, Original Gorilla Glue is a water-activated polyurethane adhesive that expands about three times into materials for a strong, 100% waterproof bond that holds through hot and cold temperatures. Application is best above 40°F (room temperature preferred); clamp 1 to 2 hours and allow 24 hours to cure. Lightly dampen one surface before applying a thin layer of glue to the dry surface; for dense hardwoods, lightly dampen both surfaces. Gorilla Tough Mounting Tape is a double-sided mounting tape for indoor and outdoor use that sticks to many smooth and rough surfaces. The Tough & Clear 60-inch roll is rated to hold up to 15 lb per maker packaging for that size.

Why do I dampen the surface for Original Gorilla Glue?
Gorilla states Original Gorilla Glue is moisture-activated. Lightly dampen one surface, apply glue to the dry surface, then clamp. For dense hardwoods, lightly dampen both surfaces.
How much glue should I use?
Use a thin layer. Maker guidance notes the glue expands up to about three times, so a little goes a long way (about 1/2 oz per square foot as a general guide).
