Minwax Wood Finish in Red Mahogany (225) in an aerosol spray can delivers the color of traditional Minwax Wood Finish, the classic oil-based penetrating stain, without a brush. It is semi-transparent, enhances the natural wood grain, and is color matched to the standard Wood Finish line so results match the can stain you know. Use it on interior bare or stripped wood: unfinished furniture, doors, trim, molding and other hard-to-reach surfaces.

How to apply

1. Remove all old finish, sand with the grain and remove the dust. On soft or porous woods such as pine, a pre-stain wood conditioner helps reduce blotching.
2. Test the color on a hidden spot. Follow the can label for shaking and spray distance, and spray in even, overlapping passes in a well-ventilated area.
3. Let it penetrate 5-15 minutes, then wipe off the excess with a clean cloth along the grain. For a darker color, apply another coat after 4-6 hours.
4. Protect the stained wood with a clear topcoat, such as a Minwax polyurethane or Polycrylic, once the stain is dry.

Good to know

For interior wood only. Rags soaked with oil-based stain can catch fire on their own: place them in a sealed, water-filled metal container and dispose of them under local fire rules. Read the can label and use adequate ventilation.
