General Finishes Milk Paint in Snow White is a premixed, water-based acrylic furniture paint with a flat, low-luster sheen that mimics old-world painted furniture. General Finishes says it is not a true milk paint: it has no casein ingredients, it is self-sealing, and it does not need a topcoat. It is rated for interior and exterior use on cabinets, trim, doors and furniture, over raw wood or previously finished surfaces. This is the 1 quart can.
Snow White is a white. On raw wood, General Finishes says to apply 2 coats of GF Stain Blocker or GF White Undercoat before white and light-colored paints, because tannin bleed-through can yellow the paint; oak, pine, mahogany and Douglas fir are the most prone. GF also says all white paints darken or yellow over time, most visibly with bright whites such as Snow White, and warns not to use any clear topcoat over white or light Milk Paint colors.

At 100 to 125 sq ft per coat, one quart gives two coats on about 50 to 62 sq ft. Bigger pieces need more than one quart or a gallon.
No. General Finishes Milk Paint is self-sealing. For high-use surfaces, GF recommends up to 3 coats of a GF water-based topcoat such as High Performance. GF warns not to use any clear topcoat over white or light Milk Paint colors, since it may yellow over wood.
Allow 2+ hours between coats and before a topcoat at 70 F and 50% humidity, longer when humidity is over 80% or coats are thick. GF's test: the coat is dry when light sanding makes powder.
