How to apply
- Remove dirt, wax and grease. Repair raw wood, sand 120–150 grit and remove dust. Let a mineral-spirits damp wipe dry. Do not sand painted surfaces; let their paint dry completely. Lightly sand prefinished cabinets with 320 grit. Do not sand bare embossed nonwood.
- Stir before and during use. On bare wood, apply evenly with a lint-free cloth or brush and wipe excess with the grain. On paint, wipe or dry-brush for the desired glaze. On cabinets, cloth-apply with grain and dry-brush corners or lap marks.
- For embossed nonwood, work stain into the grain with a circular cloth motion, then wipe with the grain and feather with a dry soft brush. Dry at least 48 hours, as for prefinished cabinets. Cool or humid conditions need longer.
- Apply compatible ZAR Water Base or Oil Base Poly for protection, following its label. Oil-based Poly over light stains can yellow without natural-light exposure. Clean tools with mineral spirits.
