How to apply
- Sand raw wood with 120 then 150 grit. On existing finishes, clean, dry, scuff sand and test adhesion. Remove dust.
- For white or light paint, follow the manufacturer's stain-blocking preparation. Do not use GF Stain Blocker outdoors.
- Ventilate and stir settled solids thoroughly. Apply smooth, even coats; strain before spraying and follow the equipment and protection guidance. For spray setup and protection, follow the manufacturer's Milk Paint application instructions.
- Wait at least 2 hours at 70 degrees F and 50% humidity. Allow longer in cool or humid conditions. When dry, sand lightly, remove dust and recoat.
- Treat gently through the 21-day cure. Wait until fully cured before ordinary cleaning or heavy use.
Good to know
Do not clear-topcoat white or light Milk Paint: it can yellow. Avoid linseed and Danish oils. Follow the matching container label when working with older cans.
The posted SDS for this color has no GHS signal word. Read the label, ventilate and protect skin and eyes.
Questions
Is it a wood stain? No. This is premixed acrylic paint for a painted finish.
Can I paint an already finished cabinet? Yes, after cleaning, sanding and an adhesion test.
Do I need a clear topcoat? Usually no. Avoid one on white or light colors; darker colors can be topcoated for added sheen.
When can I use the piece normally? Touch drying is only the first stage. Full cure takes 21 days under ideal conditions.
