General Finishes Milk Paint
General Finishes Milk Paint is a water-based acrylic paint with a flat, low-luster sheen (10 to 15). Despite the name, it is not powdered milk paint. General Finishes rates it for interior and exterior use, says it is self-sealing, and makes it with more than 50% renewable resources.
Coverage is about 400 to 500 sq ft per gallon, 100 to 125 sq ft per quart, and 50 to 65 sq ft per pint (manufacturer figures). Dry to the touch in 30+ minutes, recoat in 2+ hours, light use in 7 to 10 days, full cure in 21 days. Brush, roll, pad, or spray. Colors include Snow White, Antique White, Lamp Black, Coastal Blue, Basil, Queenstown Gray, Tuscan Red, and more.
A topcoat is optional. For high-use surfaces in darker colors, General Finishes recommends 2 to 3 coats of High Performance or an Enduro topcoat. Do not put a clear topcoat over white or light colors. Color help: Milk Paint color guide. Project kit: furniture refinishing cart.
